DID YOU KNOW?
A Game park like no other: The Kruger as the first national park to be proclaimed (1926) in South Africa and is still the best-known and most popular game sanctuary among local and overseas visitors. The eastern boundary is the Mozambique frontier. The Western boundary was extended in 1994 to incorporate a further 2000km² more when a large section of the fence was removed to ensure a free flow of game between the park and adjoining, internationally renowned private game reserves such as Timbavati, Sabie-Sand, Manyeleti and Klaserie. With the fence’s disappearance the width of the park was increased from an average 64km to as much a 100km.
